Our Story

7

The story of LMC Construction is one of resilience, passion, and unwavering commitment to making a difference, one project at a time.

LMC Construction's story began in 2004 with a vision to create a company that would redefine the construction industry. Our founder, Chris Duffin, set out to build a company that prioritized client service, responsiveness, and treating trade partners with respect and fairness. He envisioned a company that would lead by example, grow organically, and provide opportunities for its staff to thrive in a flexible and collaborative environment.

Our journey started with our first affordable housing renovation project, Canby Village Apartments, marking our initial collaboration with Oregon Housing and Community Services and USDA Rural Development. The success of this project led to a portfolio of five additional affordable renovation projects throughout rural Oregon and Washington, setting the stage for our future growth.

Our Story 1

A commitment to quality, for over 20 years

2005

In 2005, we responded to our first RFQ for a non-profit CDC and were awarded our largest project to date, Greenburg Oaks. This project, along with Canby Village Apartments, laid the foundation for long-lasting relationships with clients that we still cherish today.

2007

In 2007, we expanded our reach beyond affordable housing renovations, branching out into market-rate and ground-up new construction projects. Our growth continued organically, driven by repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied clients who appreciated our dependability and accuracy in the earliest stages of development.

2016

A milestone year for LMC was 2016 when we completed our first Post-Tension Concrete building. The success of this project led to several more collaborations with the same client and numerous other PT buildings in the following years, showcasing our ability to adapt and excel in new areas of construction.

2019

The DJC honored LMC with a Building Diversity Award for helping shape the built environment through our work, leadership, mentorships, community involvement and promotion of industry diversity.

2024

On August 4th, 2024, LMC proudly celebrated 20 years of building strong communities! From our beginnings in 2004 to becoming one of the region’s leading general contractors, this milestone marks two decades of dedication, growth, and shared success with our incredible team and partners.

2024

In a defining moment for our company, LMC Construction became 100% employee-owned! This milestone reflects our deep commitment to our people and the values that have guided us since day one. Through our new Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), every employee now has a stake in our shared success and future.

Based in Tualatin, Oregon, we’ve been told we’re a little different than other general contractors and construction management companies in the area. We like that.
