The Holman Hotel is a seven-story, 127-room hospitality development located in the heart of Salem’s Downtown Historic District. Developed by Sturgeon Development Partners and part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, the project was designed to serve both government and business travelers, with 35 extended-stay suites featuring kitchenettes and expanded living areas. The building includes ground-floor retail and dining spaces, including a full-service restaurant, bar, and café, as well as meeting rooms and event spaces. The hotel’s design draws inspiration from the surrounding historic architecture, using a palette of light brick and dark tile to complement neighboring structures like the Pioneer Trust Bank building.
The project revitalized a previously underutilized site adjacent to the Salem Convention Center and Riverfront Park. The design pays tribute to Salem’s heritage by incorporating names and artwork honoring pioneering women of the city throughout the hotel’s rooms and public spaces. The Holman’s construction emphasized both contextual sensitivity and modern functionality, blending historic references with contemporary hospitality standards. With its central location and thoughtful integration into the urban fabric, the hotel contributes to the ongoing revitalization of downtown Salem.
