Glisan Landing is a transformative affordable housing development located in Portland’s Montavilla neighborhood, designed to support families, individuals exiting homelessness, and communities historically underserved by traditional housing systems. Built on a 1.65-acre site, the project includes two distinct buildings: Aldea, a 96-unit family-focused residence, and Beacon, a 41-unit Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) community.
Developed through a partnership between Related Northwest, Catholic Charities of Oregon, and the Immigrant & Refugee Community Organization (IRCO), Glisan Landing offers a mix of studio to four-bedroom apartments, with 15 units reserved for households earning 30 percent of Area Median Income (AMI). Beacon provides deeply affordable housing for individuals transitioning out of houselessness, with wraparound services provided by Catholic Charities.
The community features a welcoming and resilient design that fosters connection and opportunity, including a shared courtyard, multicultural preschool, fiber arts studio, and Stone Soup Café, a public café that doubles as a culinary training ground for individuals overcoming barriers to employment. Residents also benefit from on-site amenities including a playground, community garden, fitness room, and culturally specific services tailored to promote equity and stability.
Construction was completed in 2025, marking Glisan Landing as one of Portland’s key Metro Housing Bond projects. The housing community reflects a commitment to building spaces that foster dignity, opportunity, and long-term resilience for all residents.
