Las Adelitas is a 142-unit affordable housing development located in Portland’s Cully neighborhood. Built on the site of a former vacant lot, the four-story building includes a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. The project was designed to serve a diverse population, including working families, individuals experiencing homelessness, and communities of color. Eighteen units are designated as Permanent Supportive Housing, with services provided by Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare. The development also includes a manager’s unit and offers a range of community amenities such as a central plaza, event hall, classroom space, and outdoor gathering areas.
The project was the result of a multi-year community-led planning process and represents the largest public investment in the Cully neighborhood to date. Construction began in 2021 and was completed in late 2022. The site includes pedestrian-friendly features, EV charging stations, and a mid-block crosswalk to improve neighborhood connectivity. Las Adelitas was developed with a focus on long-term affordability, sustainability, and community integration, transforming a previously underutilized property into a vibrant residential and cultural hub.
