The Valfre at Avenida 26 is a 36-unit affordable housing development located in Forest Grove, Oregon. Built on the site of a former concrete plant, the project includes a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, with 83% of the units designed for families needing larger living spaces. The development consists of three two-story and two three-story residential buildings arranged around a central community building. The three-bedroom units are designed as two-story townhomes, offering a more traditional, house-like experience for larger households. The community features accessible walkways, parking, and a range of outdoor amenities, including a playground, garden plots, and a lawn for recreation and community gatherings.
The project was developed by DCM Communities in partnership with Bienestar and Sequoia Mental Health. Construction began in July 2021 and was completed in October 2022. Funding sources included Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Metro Affordable Housing Bond funds, and private financing. Eight units are supported by project-based vouchers, serving households at or below 30% of the area median income. The development emphasizes culturally responsive design and community engagement, with a multilingual marketing plan and targeted outreach to MWESB contractors. Located near schools, parks, transit, and Pacific University, the site supports walkability and access to essential services.
